Khairil Zhafri's Facebook profile

My name is Khairil Zhafri. I am 18 years old in my late teens and I like a lot of things. Really, a lot of things. In a typical day, I’d be spending my free time reading my feeds on Google Reader. Mostly, I like to read about tech, life hacks, food, design, economy, business, politics, Perez Hilton and current issues. Sometimes, (and especially when computer/internet is down) I go to library to load myself with more and more information as an escapism. I am quite a sucker at that but you can’t rely on me at anything athletic. I am pretty good at swimming though.

Other than collecting useless information, I love to watch movies (checkout what I’ve watched so far). I don’t really have any particular type as favourite but I don’t do horror. Psychological horror is fine. Not that I am scared, I just don’t enjoy instilling myself with irrational fears. Somehow I don’t feel entertained that way. Now, I am digging in Hollywood classics. Breakfast at Tiffany’s tops the list. Other than that, I am a complete sucker at good comedy. There are a lot of lame ones, of course. Also,  I just love any films that set in the ’80s or those that play around that theme. They are so colorful. Screen musicals bore me most of the time because I prefer staged ones, more theathrical I suppose. And before I watch a film, sometimes, I read the review and/or synopsis. It’s kinda a habit already. I need to know what’s going to happen before it does.

I love food. I used to study in boarding schools where good food was scarce. Despite claiming that I love to eat, I am not that gastronomically adventurous. It gonna make seven-volume encyclopedia to list the things I don’t eat. I just don’t eat things that has unpleasant smell, look like insects and those that I’ve never eaten before. For the last bit, I do very rarely try new food. Mostly they are actually made of things that I’ve already tasted before. I like Italian food because they are always in big portion, meaty and creamy. Most of the time, I like to make special request when ordering Italian like use a different pasta or meat or cheese, etc. Pizza Hut sucks. But their pizzas, the original ones are consumable. I don’t really like Chinese or Thai food because they are sometimes smell so weird. Just recently I found the Jewish in me. I only eat Kosher food! I don’t eat seashells, at all! And like many good Jews, I don’t mix my food. Well that probably got more to do with my OCD (most of the time it’s compulsive!).

Yes, I have them all. OCD, ADD, dyslexia, Internet addiction and all sorts of psychological disorders.

In a lot of ways, I am very conservative. I don’t like my food to be changed. In fact, I don’t like most of the things in my life to be changed. Good things better left unchanged especially if they work well for me. I am very conventional in appearance, too. Definitely not as daring as other people my age. I am probably only more liberated in my thinking, sometimes. So there you go, I am so not liberal but am pretty liberated.

I have vowed to become a vegetarian with compulsive meat-eating behaviour by the age 30.

This is a self-indulgent website to document things that I do and things I am interested in.

In case you think I am smart, I am so not. I don’t like playing smart games like chess and checkers. But I love monopoly (because I am a bit of a Jew!). Sometimes I pretend to be smart by being cynical just so I don’t feel stupid. Actually being cynical is not smart. Cynicism is a disguise of fear.
